Colin Buxton

Colin has lived in Bolton-upon-Dearne all his life, and attended schools in Bolton upon Dearne, Goldthorpe and Thurnscoe. Upon leaving school, he started work in independent retail in Thurnscoe, before moving to run a shop in Goldthorpe for 10 years. In 2008, Colin opened his own business, which gives him over 20 years’ experience trading and retailing on the Goldthorpe high street. 

Colin is passionate about improving and developing the area in which he lives and works and has been involved in a number of initiatives over the years including organising Christmas events and working with volunteers and shopkeepers to fill and maintain flower planters.  

Colin feels strongly that Goldthorpe has so much more potential and believes that through the Goldthorpe Town Deal Board he can support the area to become a better place in which to live, work and invest.
