My name is Derek Bramham, chair of the Goldthorpe Towns Fund Board.
My family have lived in Thurnscoe for over 100 years. I worked 20 years in the Health Service at Montagu Hospital, Oakwood Hall Hospital and Rotherham District General Hospital. Obtained a Degree and teaching qualification at University of Huddersfield and worked as a lecturer at Rockingham College in Wath upon Dearne, now Dearne Valley College.
I'm committed to the area and am an active member of the Dearne Ward Alliance, Chair of the Dearne Approach, Chair of Big Local Thurnscoe, trustee of the Houghton Road Community Centre and Trustee of Thurnscoe Regeneration. I was the community member of the BMBC team to deliver the presentation for the 2017 LGC awards in London, our team won first prize for the award in Community Involvement.
It is a privilege to be part of the Goldthorpe Town Board to?help in making the Dearne area “a thriving community where people choose to live, invest and excel”.
