Update on the Principal Towns and Local Centre Delivery

1.    Update and agree the approach and prioritisation of the Principal Towns Programme.

 

2.    Due to an early investment opportunity in the market, approve the necessary delegated powers, allowing BMBC officers to draw down against funding notionally set aside to deliver key activities.

 

3.    Subsequent reports will follow to provide updates on further actions and seek approval for decisions where required.

Consultation process

Discussions have taken place with operational and strategic leaders within the organisation to ensure the proposal meets the strategic ambitions of the Council.

 

Individual consultation has taken place with:

 

·         Executive Director – Growth and Sustainability

·         Service Director – Culture and Regeneration

·         The Council’s Finance Director

 

Finally, through the Principal Town Board consultation has taken place with local members, business, and residents. This will continue as the programme of activity evolves.
