Minutes:
Councillor Greenhough stated that he would like to formally apologise for the derogatory language he used about Councillor P Birkinshaw at the Council meeting held on the 25th July, 2019. He acknowledged that this was unacceptable and he unreservedly withdrew those comments and apologised for his choice of language.
It had been a long and hot meeting and emotions were running high and he had used words that should never have been used and certainly not in a Council meeting.
This apology had been send directly to Councillor P Birkinshaw the day after the Council meeting. He was making this apology in full Council today at the request of the Standards Regulatory Board Panel and he hoped that this would now draw the matter to a close.
