The Dearne Area Council Manager introduced this item and provided members with an update regarding procurement and the 2019/20 financial position.  It was highlighted that £60k had been earmarked for the Development Fund out of the 2019/20 budget.  The Area Council also received a Wellbeing Grant from Healthier Communities of just over £19k which will be distributed through the grants process, with applications assessed by the panel in early November. Taking into account other Dearne Area Council priorities, there is a total of £3,172.44 remaining to spend.

The Area Council Manager updated member with regard to the Housing and Migration Officer post.  Despite a recruitment exercise, the post remains vacant.  The job description has now been amended which it is hoped will attract more candidates who might not have a qualification but do have experience with this type of work.  Members felt that there is an urgent need to fill the post as the problems which existed previously remain and need to be tackled proactively.  The closing date for applications is 1^st November, with interviews taking place shortly afterwards.     

RESOLVED:-

(i)        that members note the current financial positon and the impact on future budgets from 2019/20 onwards; and

(ii)       that members note the latest position with regard to the procurement of services.
