Councillor Sir Steve Houghton CBE, in moving the minutes of the Cabinet meeting held on the 13^th June, 2018, referred to Minute 18 ‘Corporate Financial Summary for the 2017/18 Financial Year’ and to the fact that some authorities had ‘negative’ Revenue Support Grant.  This meant that such authorities were better resourced and had additional income in excess of that required to meet the ‘needs’ of the services within those areas.  In response to lobbying from those Authorities, the Government had agreed to fund this cost (totalling approximately £152m) which effectively ‘rewarded’ those authorities with additional resources.  He stated that the Council and SIGOMA were to lobby the Government to reconsider this policy so that scarce resources could be targeted to those Authorities with greatest need.

RESOLVED that the minutes as printed and now submitted of the Cabinet Meeting held on the 13^th June, 2018 be received.
