To receive nominations for and elect to the office of Mayor of the Barnsley Metropolitan Borough for the Municipal Year 2025-26.

 

(At this stage the meeting will adjourn to enable to Mayor to robe).

To receive the declaration prescribed by law from the newly-elected Mayor.

The Mayor will respond to their appointment.

To convey the best thanks of the Council to the retiring Mayor, Councillor Clarke, for the manner in which they have discharged their duties.

To present Councillor Clarke a replica of the medallion attached to the chain of office as Mayor for the municipal year 2024-25 in recognition of the Council’s appreciation of the services rendered by them to the borough during this period.

The Retiring Mayor will make a response.

To receive nominations for, and elect to, the office of Deputy Mayor for Barnsley Metropolitan Borough for the Municipal year 2025-26.

To receive the declaration prescribed by law from the newly appointed Deputy Mayor.  The chain of office will be affixed at this stage.

To note the appointment of a Young Mayor of Barnsley to represent young people of the borough and to receive the declaration of that newly appointed Young Mayor.
