To received nominations for and elect to the office of Mayor of the Barnsley Metropolitan Borough for the Municipal Year 2023/24.

 

(At this stage the meeting will adjourn to enable the Mayor to robe).

To receive the declaration prescribed by law from the newly-elected Mayor.

The Mayor will respond to their appointment.

To convey the best thanks of the Council to the retiring Mayor, Councillor Tattersall, for the manner in which she has discharged her duties.

To present to Councillor Tattersall a replica of the medallion attached to the chain of office as Mayor for the municipal year 2022-23 in recognition of the Council’s appreciation of the services rendered by her to the borough during this period.

The Retiring Mayor will make a response.

To receive nominations for and to elect to the office of Deputy Mayor for Barnsley Metropolitan Borough for the Municipal Year 2023/24.

To receive the declaration prescribed by law from the newly appointed Deputy Mayor.  The chain of office will be affixed at this stage.

To note the appointment of a Young Mayor of Barnsley to represent young people of the borough and to received the declaration of that newly appointed Young Mayor.
