To proceed and re-procure the SEND Disagreement Reosluiton and Mediation Service fro a two year contract until 31/03/2023. 

In line with the requirements of the Children and Families Act 2014, The Special Educational Needs and Disability Regulations 2014 and the SEN and Disability Code of Practice: 0 to 25 years, May 2015, an independent disagreement resolution and mediation service is required to be provided as a statutory function for parents/carers (until their child is 18 years of age) and young people (beyond compulsory school age and up to the age of 25 years).

Ensuring the continuity of provision of a statutory service by Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council at a contract value that reflects demand/best value it is necessary to

retender the Mediation and Disagreement Resolution service by means of a Request for Quote (RFQ) for a two-year contract up to the value of £69,900.

Consultation and Service user feedback is sought and considered after each mediation and disagreement resolution and is reported in the updates from the provider
