Purpose:

In accordance with the strategic objectives of the Borough SEND School Placement and Sufficiency Strategy (2020-2022) this report aims to enhance local mainstream and special provision for pupils with SEND, through the proposed development of a special school to best meet the education needs of these groups of pupils, closer to home.

Decision:

RESOLVED that Cabinet endorse the creation of a Programme Board whose purpose will be to develop a Council-wide approach to meeting the education requirements of the above cohort of children and young people as forecasted in Section 4.0 of the report
