This is a Key Decision report which seeks Cabinet approval for the commissioning of these places at Penistone Grammar School. The proposal supports the objectives of the above Borough Strategy by enhancing parental choice and enabling pupils with SEND to receive their education in a mainstream setting, closer to home and within their own community. This will reduce the need to place such pupils in costlier placements within independent settings outside of the Borough far from their families and communities.

RESOLVED that approval be given to the commissioning of up to 20 places for pupils with special educational, including complex needs, at Penistone Grammar School, as detailed in the report now submitted.
