Decision details

RESOLVED:-

(i)        that the Selective Licensing of Private Rented Properties consultation methodology and outline fees, as set out in the report now submitted, be approved;

(ii)       that the consultation process be implemented with effect from 5^th July, 2017 with a minimum ten week period to bring a report to Cabinet with the consultation outcomes for a final Cabinet decision to implement/decline all or area specific designations; and

(iii)      that consideration of an Additional Licensing Scheme/s be held in abeyance until further research can be undertaken and current proposed legislative changes have been enacted, expected in October 2017, pending further consideration regarding smaller Houses in Multiple Occupancy (HMOs), not covered by Mandatory Licensing.

            (Note: In view of the need to begin consultation without delay to meet the timescales proposed, the Chair of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee has agreed to waive the delay in implementation associated with the Call-In procedures in respect of this item.)
